Wow! This has been a very busy few months for our family. So much so that things that don’t have to be done (like blogging) have been pushed aside. Bob’s job, plus the new Children’s Ministry Director job, plus first grade home schooling, plus an extra crabby two year old with a very strong will, have really stretched us. They are all such wonderful blessings and we are so very, very grateful. So here we are on a small Christmastime break and I have just a few minutes to catch up.
First, Grace is doing wonderfully. No signs of any illness and no further follow-up is needed at this time. I find that I go for a week or more between times when I catch myself and think off all that we went through, and the nagging worry that something may happen in the future. God has given us such peace and we are so grateful that he has delivered us from the trial. We will go back to Mayo or Children’s for a follow-up MRI next summer.
Second, our dossier has officially been mailed to Ethiopia! I think the last time I posted we were expecting to mail. Well, we had a small glitch come up with a paper that needed to be redone and re-certified. We then mailed the dossier to our agency’s office in Virginia on December 6th. It was authenticated in Washington D.C. and as of this afternoon it is on it’s way to Ethiopia. We are the 53rd family overall to submit a dossier to Ethiopia and 16 have received referrals, putting us 37th in line for a referral. (A referral is when Ethiopia matches a family with an orphan. The family receives the name of the child, a photo, and basic medical information).
That’s all I have time for today. Maybe, just maybe, I’ll be able to get back into the blog world again soon. We’ll see…
Merry Christmas!
